you can alos eat the leaves of garlic. i personally find its taste very similar to chives and leek.
it bought a book all about herbs some time ago and it had plants which i never knew were even herbs, it accepted the term very broadly, it included: sandlewood, tomato, banana. im not actually sure herb has a proper definition.
fall would usually start in late September. Its one of the seasons in temperate climates that precedes winter. These instructions may not work that well if you have different seasons like in India or other Monsoon countries.
why do you want to plant in the fall? It sprouts pretty fast.
