Not mine. I try growing it, Only could grow thai basil. The italian version, no.

If you search Eddie Izzard herbs on Youtube a great sketch comes up-So funny how people all over the world think they are the only ones in the world. If my parents came from Holland to the UK I would be using the H but they came to America so I don’t use it so I don’t sound stupid or imperialistic-thanks for the tips!

Hmm indeed re reading that bahsil and bahzil sound similar so… yea lol

Stand corrected. Replacing my ’s’ with a ‘z’ makes a huge difference in pronounciation. Cheers for that. ;)

Again, only the Americans say ‘Tomayto’. Doesn’t make it correct.

Shorty, I am aware of silent letters, though I fail to see your point. Are you saying that the majority of the world has been pronouncing the ‘h’ unnecessarily.

American is not a language. At best it’s a dialect. Choosing to bastardize words does not make them new ones in a new language. Sorry, but that’s the ztroof (silent ‘z’).

actually its pronounced, when correctly pronounced Bah-zil… .and you’ve never seen words with silent letters?

What kind of expert is this?
Basil is tricky. It’ll bolt if too warm and it’ll taste terrible. The soil is very important too. Trimming off the flower heads is essential or the leaves won’t get what they need to taste good.

keep looking. there are better basil tutorials than this.

ehhhhh tomayto tomahto… duh.

‘Herbs’!!!! It has a ‘H’ in it, so pronounce it. What are you? Jamaican?

And it’s pronounced Bahsil, not Baysil.

No offense, but you could have replaced the word “basil” with almost any herb for this video – you mentioned nothing specific to basil. You didn’t mention pinching off the flowers which, I think, is the most important part of growing basil. This could have been an audio file since you showed nothing. Appreciate the effort though.

so, plant seeds, water, and put into the sun?

LOL thanks.

Srsly, what is the temperature range the plants prefer?

Ehow Yolanda
